Cuisinart Food Processor Parts

Cuisinart food processor parts are usually widely available, because the Cuisinart is one of the best food processors made, and is very popular.

What many people do not realize is that it was Julia Child and James Beard, both famous chefs, who made the name Cuisinart synonymous with culinary art. Introduced to America by founder Carl Sontheimer in 1973, Child and Beard quickly hailed the food processor as a revolutionary kitchen appliance, and extolled its ability to quickly and easily make fine food. The Conair Corporation has managed the brand since 1989, and it remains a household name and is endorsed by culinary connoisseurs around the world.

Though cuisinart food processor parts are readily available, you need to know what you’re doing to get the right part for what you really need.

For instance, even though certain models may have similar names or similar model numbers, it doesn’t mean the various parts are interchangeable. Always make sure to double check your food processor’s model number.

If you have an older Cuisinart processor, from 1988 or before, you will probably have to contact Cuisinart directly for the parts you need … or for any trading-up options they might offer.

One other thing to watch out for is that Cuisinart part numbers may have changed over the years. So the part numbers you see in your instruction manual may not be the current parts. While most have retained the same letters and numbers at the beginning of the part number, but have had letters or numbers added for different revisions. One example is the addition of the letter G, which was added for new Grey Lexan parts. (Grey Lexan wasn’t even around back in those good old days!)

For safety and efficiency reasons, many bowl shapes have changed as the years passed. If you need a new lid, you may be out of luck and will have to purchase both a new lid and the bowl that goes with it.

If you cannot find the part you need, you might want to consider buying a new food processor. While there are more than 50 food processor manufacturers, Cuisinart remains at the top of many fine chefs’ recommended brands. They are available with a little as a 4-cup capacity … all the way up to 20 cups.

The next generation of Cuisinart food processors use a new motor with alternate speeds for dough mixing, and include some of the largest bowls with rounded curves and extra large feed tubes for easy cleaning. A new dough blade, updated safety features, and Cuisinart’s 10-year warranty make them one of the best food processors to buy new if you can not locate that Cuisinart food processor part.
